Introducing Clubs on ChessPuzzle.net

We’re excited to launch the public beta of Clubs — a new way for coaches, schools, and chess clubs to train and grow together on ChessPuzzle.net.

With Clubs, coaches get an unprecedented level of insight into their students’ training — the kind of understanding that usually comes only after many hours of personal lessons. Now students can train at home on their own schedule, while you still see exactly how they think, learn, and improve in Puzzle Academy.

Main features

  • Create a club and invite members with flexible roles: Admins, Coaches, and Students.
  • Club leaderboards to celebrate achievements and spark friendly competition.
  • Flexible subscriptions — Admins can buy seats for the club, or members can use their own Premium accounts.
  • Deep coaching insights — follow each student’s progress in Puzzle Academy, including stats, recent activities, and puzzle-by-puzzle review.
  • Assign tasks — assign unlocks and replays; tasks appear directly on each student’s Academy dashboard.

Real results from clubs in action

The Clubs feature has been tested by several coaches and clubs — and the results are promising. Coaches report that Puzzle Academy gives them data-driven insight into how students think and improve, even when they train independently.

“Our students who trained consistently on ChessPuzzle.net grew noticeably more confident. One student around 1500 Elo trained intensively in Puzzle Academy before a classical tournament and gained +96 Elo — a fantastic boost in performance.”

— Emil Aurel Deliman — President and Coach at Club Sportiv Tera – Șah Mediaș, Romania

The same club went on to win multiple medals at national team events, with clear improvements in calculation and handling of critical positions — attributing part of this success to consistent Puzzle Academy training.

From my own coaching of young players in our club

I noticed one student would rush after a failed puzzle which led to more misses. A quick message to the parent and a change of habit (slow down, review the solution) improved results immediately.

One student excelled at tactics but spent too long on checkmates, so I assigned easier checkmate patterns; we’re already seeing faster recognition and better solving rates.

These are the kinds of insights that typically require hours of personal coaching. With Clubs on ChessPuzzle.net, you get them as part of everyday training.

Why Clubs: data + human understanding

Puzzle Academy analyzes training data to surface each student’s strengths and weaknesses.

A coach adds the human layer—talking to the student, uncovering why certain areas are difficult, and guiding mindset and habits.

Clubs bring these together: data‑driven insight plus human understanding, with targeted tasks that scale from one student to an entire team.
