In triangle mate, a queen checkmates the king. The queen is next to the king, and protected by a rook, which is two squares away, and also next to the king. The queen, rook, and king form a triangle.

Examples

White can deliver triangle mate with Qb5#.
On the edge of the board, queen and rook already cover all the escape squares.

White can deliver triangle mate with Qd6#.
f7 is the only escape squared not covered by queen nor rook. Here it is blocked by Black's rook.
